| General | | Posted on: 03/15/2008 | | Finishline is currently working on a number of projects one being manufacturing mid-level volume carbonfiber products for JLT performance.Finishline is producing a number of different Mustang components(radiator schrouds,fusebox covers,intake covers,rear decklids,mirror covers,guagepod pillars,etc.)out of high gloss carbonfiber.
All of these products are made from high grade 2x2 twill carbonfiber prepreg that is put under full vacuum and AUTOCLAVED at serious pressures per square inch.This is by far the most advanced composite processing available. |

| A few current projects. | | Posted on: 02/26/2008 | | Currently we are manufacturing a variety of carbonfiber production products.
-Carbonfiber Acura wing extensions(Gerney wings).Which the client is marketing
them now and will be selling them asap.Low volume production run.
-Carbonfiber Mustang products for (JLT PERFORMANCE).
Radiator schrouds(carbonfiber)
Intake covers(carbonfiber)
Rear decklids(carbonfiber)
Fusebox covers(carbonfiber)
Mirror covers(carbonfiber)
And much more carbonfiber components.Parts listed are on the GT500 models,and
standard GT V8 and V6 models.High volume production run.
-Also we have recently prototyped some (CHOPPERGUYS) droposeat side covers.
We recently finished the tooling(molds)and manufactured some sets in 2x23k twill
carbonfiber.This will be a high volume production run.
-Last week we finished up on manufacturing a midsize production run of graphite made radiation structual brackets for the medical industry.The composite brackets exceeded there standard mechanical properties 65%percent and the project was completed three weeks ahead of schedule.
-We recently did some Autoclave epoxy gas testing for a prepreg company(RENEGADE).Basically we recieve a number of different epoxy specimens on a call plate.Then we regulate the desired pressure in the autoclave,ramp the heat as directed and pull no vacuum.As the autoclave heats up and epoxies start to cure
the pressures do not let the epoxies gas off.

Gentex Corp. just released there QUALITY CONTROL ASSURANCE RATINGS for the year.
We (FINISHLINE ADVANCED COMPOSITES) recieved the highest score (100%)possible.
We will be posting up the actual document in a few days.The document intales on part quality,customer service,time schedules,etc. |
| Russell Racing School | | Posted on: 12/09/2007 | | Finishline and Russell Racing School have been doing business for 3 to 4 years now.Russell Racing students come to Finishline where they actually get to manufacture some race car gauge panels out of carbonfiber.
The students basically get a hands on project of working with prepregs.They lay-up the prepreg in the molds provided and then go thru the entire vacuum bagging process.
Finally,prepping and putting parts into the autoclaving process.And when parts are postcured and debagged. The students get to take there hand made carbonfiber race car gauge panels home just like a trophy!
Russell Racing has and is going through some very exciting times.They are growing and developing into a much higher level of racing.There having a huge new school(factory)being built.Also they purchased twenty-five new 100% carbonfiber race cars (lolas).
Finishline is going to be responsible for keeping the cars safe and reliable on the track.By doing consistant advanced composite repairs and up keeps.This is a very serious project for Finishline because these race cars are going to be seeing lots of track time and abuse.This is where decades of composite experience is a necessity! |
| QUALITY IS #1 | | Posted on: 11/22/2007 | | Here @ finishline we basically have the ability to do anyting that has to do with advanced composites.We just finished up a aerospace project that required (mil-r-9300)specs.which required each part to be a specific toughened epoxy prepreg.Also each part was autoclaved @ 125psi@ full vacuum.So that meant that the molds were manufactured out of carbonfiber.As a matter of fact we used twenty-five layers of high modules 12k 4x4 twill fabric with a toughened epoxy so that the molds could withstand the pressures and temps.Also when molds are manufactured using the correct materials and prcedures they will be able to go thru hundreds of cycles!The actual part was and is a structual ventalation panel that lives on a C -131 Aircraft.

| GENTEX CORP. 1st run! | | Posted on: 10/29/2007 | | Finishline Advanced Composites has finished the first production run ahead of schedule.Today i am finishing up the certs and paperwork on the order that was completed saterday(10/27/07)and then overnighted to Gentex.
Basically there were some 24 hour shifts on this project.24/7 shifts are no stranger here @ Finishline Advanced Composites we will do whatever it takes to keep our schedules on time! |

Finally we achieved a product that far exceeded the specs.This was a very exciting process and is going to be a exciting project! |
